ESPN

This project reimagines the ESPN College GameDay graphic package across animation, editorial toolkits, and AR/VR—bringing a bold, unified visual language to one of sports’ most iconic franchises. Over five months, we delivered more than 100 assets for the 2025 season kickoff, with me leading art direction from concept through execution. The system elevates storytelling, amplifies school spirit, and performs seamlessly within the high-speed demands of live college football. Through dynamic motion, refined typography, and a cohesive design framework, the rebrand delivers clarity, impact, and excitement across every touchpoint—from broadcast opens to in-game graphics.

GAME DAY

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

Instead of relying on traditional graphic elements like college banners and flags, I introduced a new, unexpected concept inspired by an otherworldly transit station. The College GameDay token becomes the guide, leading viewers into each school’s realm. In this system, the graphic package functions as the transit hub, while each destination represents a different school—creating a journey-driven visual experience.

Working alongside a team of highly talented creatives, I was exposed to a wide range of inventive ideas—from a flying city emerging from a football field to bold, highly expressive 2D graphic design approaches. The collaboration pushed the boundaries of the visual language and helped shape a richer, more ambitious package

FINAL DIRECTION

While the client initially wanted to maintain traditional visual elements, we shifted the focus to the center stage as the core storytelling device. By elevating it as the primary asset, the stage became the foundation for the open and the entire graphic package—anchoring the visuals while allowing the system to evolve in a bold, cohesive direction.

GRAPHIC

PACKAGE

Over five months, our team at Compadre delivered a wide range of assets in preparation for the 2025 season. The “Center Stage” concept anchored the entire graphic system, serving as the visual and narrative foundation of the package. It flexibly guided motion design, editorial toolkits, and AR/VR applications—allowing each element to feel distinct while remaining unified. This approach created a cohesive, dynamic, and instantly recognizable College GameDay experience that could scale across platforms and adapt seamlessly to the fast-paced demands of live broadcast.
